With Lavender and Lace

One of my favorite things about markets is meeting all the wonderful ladies that come in my little booth. On Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Kelsie of With Lavender and Lace. She took some great photos and wrote an incredibly nice bit about me on her blog. Go check it out and scroll around to see some of her amazing photography. Enjoy!

I opened up shop at the SOWA Open Market on Sunday and it was my most successful market to date. High waisted shorts and vintage deadstock sunglasses were flying off the shelves! Thank you everyone so much for your support and positive feedback!

Brian picked out an aloe plant for his sister on her birthday and I took home a new plant friend too. It was such a perfect day to get lost in Peckham's vast greenhouses and gardens.

Spent some time at the library this afternoon looking at photos of the way the rest of the world dresses for inspiration and daydreamingly reading European travel guides.

Listening To.... (the Joe Cocker Version)

What would you think if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song and I'll try not to sing out of key.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, Gonna try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away, does it worry you to be alone? How do you feel by the end of the day, are you sad because you're on your own?

No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm,Gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody? I need somebody to love! Could it be anybody? I want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight? Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time. What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, Gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody? I just need someone to love. Could it be anybody? I want somebody to love.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, Gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends, with a little help from my friends

Lyrics written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Introducing.... The Rosie Dress!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket

Happy summertime! A classically styled dress that is so fun and easy to wear. A surplice bodice sits atop a figure flattering a-line skirt while an elasticized empire waist and adjustable spaghetti straps enable this dress to fit you perfectly. The back strap also serves as a drawstring for an even more customizable fit in the back. All seams are serged in this professionally made garment. A great addition to your summer wardrobe!

An absolutely perfect beginning of summer weekend. Providence Open Market, early evening beach trip, grilling and a campfire at night. Lots of visiting on Sunday wearing an almost entirely vintage/thrifted outfit in shades of poppy red, black and white.

Spring Collection Photographs

Photobucket

I'm sure that you all enjoyed the fantastically fun behind the scenes video that Caitlin and Jeff made of our recent Spring 2011 photo shoot, and now I'm here to share with you the photos! Kaitlin Coleman was the photographer and did an excellent job executing the bright colors on gray background shoot idea that I had. To keep with the all are loved and welcome fidget finds aesthetic I chose to use real women as my models. Granted they are all my close friends, many of whom I have know since childhood, but they all embrace the positive attitude and enjoying life feel that I want my clothing to have. Everyone did their own hair and makeup and the photos were not touched up at all to hide blemishes or to make the girls appear thinner because all shapes and sizes are loved here and all the girls are absolutely stunning JUST THE WAY THEY ARE!! Here are a few of my favorite photos but please be sure to check out my new website where you'll see many more. So exciting!

A big thank you to Kait for the photos, my intern/partner in fashion Melanie who thankfully took the lead with styling for the shoot, and Chantal for pitching in and doing a lot of sewing in the days leading up to it. And of course my models and muses, Renee, Caitlin, Julie, Lily, Maya, Andi, and Mae.

Behind the Scenes Video
